With this warmer weather and constant precipitation I would consider a gravel pit or farm pond for bass and bluegill but plenty of crappie can be caught in any of the several area state park lakes.
I normally fish spillways this time of the year but flows have been high lately.
Good luck and Good Fishing !
I love winter crappie fishing and like you I seldom crappie fish in summer but I do make a point to fish for crappie in early spring at least a few times.
On cloudy days, especially after a warm- up they can be caught surprisingly shallow in winter.
Good luck and Good Fishing !
How is the best way to winter crappie fish? I'm more used to spring and summer, fall is for deer hunting but I have been dyeing to get my boat out and catch some crappie.
Depends where you are fishing.. I would go out on your boat, find some structure and drop a jig down, also make sure there are some fish on the structure. Goodluck!
If you go to caesar creek check out some of the coves. Use your lcr to locate schools of shad and fish right below them with a jig. Don't be afraid to fish deep.
