Is say the posibilty it there. Most all the large ponds I seen this morning was iced over. I was gonna fight the ice tonight.but think ill just head south to the river
nope, his buddy had a rope handy just in case, he was just checking it out, BTW this was at GLSM, whole lake was locked up and channel I checked was only 1" but it was open 2 days ago while other stuff was already locked up 2 days ago so ice will be different depths depending where your at, be warned...
I can confirm GLSM is iced over as far out as you can see. Went thru Celina Fri. all that could be seen was ice ice ice. It's a cinch I.L. is iced also
I bet right now,you drive to long Island first pull off area and boys will be ice fishing that 2 to 3 foot water for gills. It was locked up Thursday night in the protected area. Just saying nit saying go ice fishing. I just know the local boys are a crazy bunch.lol
2.5" of good clear ice in not a problem if you respect it and not crowd an area. Long island is nice for early ice. Shallow, no wind, lots of folks around and close to the cars. As far a s crazy locals go, with only s handful of ice days a year. We crazy souls have to get on it every chance we can to justify the many thousands of dollars we spend on short rods and other ice spcicd
I can just rember seeing a couple of guys out a glsm when I was a kid. They were out on 2-3in of white ice in the spring. We went out drilled a couple of holes and got off of the ice. I love ice fishing but would rather be out on ice that I don't have to worry about falling through
