Went to my favorite little spot today. The river had some color and actually had some water in it. I had my nine and five year old along. The fish were not really cooperating at all my kids were messin around with whatever they could find. My older one picked up a piece of garbage I was not sure what it was I told her to please put that down I don't know what that is. Her reply was why don't you put your pole down and help me clean up this litter then. I stood there for a second and thought how great kids can be at times. So that's what we did for the next hour. Picked up garbage all three of us great times. No fish were caught tried sticks and spinners.
Tried again for bit this morn. Two much flow and color for me. If anyone wants to share any info on how to catch in these conditions I sure would be glad to listen. Truck said 25 degrees it felt colder than that lol.
Slooooooow! painstakingly slow. Smaller plastic fished on the bottom and slow twitched jerk baits. If you're a cranker this is not your kind of fishing. Float and fly works too but still slow and lots of drifts
I'm screwed lol. I have a lot more patience when flow is right. Caught a few last winter on suspending jerks in real slow pools pike and smalleys. When it's not good vis I have a rough time. One day last winter caught pike on consecutive casts was pretty sweet. I appreciate the info and will try it soon thanks
