Made a trip to Moggy in all that rain yesterday... Was the only boat out that we saw on the lake and the only trailer on Lansinger Rd ramp.. Fished from about 9:00 am till about 4:00.. Got off the lake for a short period of time when the big storm came through with lightning.... I do have some common sense.. Fished in about 12 foot of water using pin min and maggots and jig heads.. My brother and I both ended up taking about 20 each home of a mixed bag of nice crappies, perch, and gills.... My wife can't understand how I can fish all day in the rain and complain to her when she asks me to take the trash out when its raining... DUH!!
You can try fishing the docks at the boat ramp on Lansinger Rd.. Alot of people fish there and it does produce fish.... There is also the dock off State route 43... Lansinger Rd would be my pick but be careful going down that road... Alot of mud holes in it.. Enjoy your day with your son... There isn't anything better than spending time with your son fishing... The very best to you out there.
It might have been posted at one time, but it isn't now .. I have never launched my boat there that someone fishing on the dock hasn't given me the courtesy to use it in my launch or docking... This time of year when fewer boats are using the ramp, what does it hurt if a father and his son fish from it... I say use it and hope they catch a bag full.. I think they should be putting signs up instead saying NO dumping of trash and PLEASE take your trash home with you!!! That's more important to me...
I was there the other day and some guy was fishing off the dock casting by that sunken tree and catching some gills one right after the other.... He was having a blast.
i had a little trouble with getting my boat out of the water there back in june with dock fishermen wouldnt move their line to let me pull my boat out i finally told them to move them or i will cut them they called me a few names but moved them .that was at lansinger and yes it was full of trash . its a little further to go but i will launch on 43 from now on
It is free to launch at any of Mogadore's ramps. At 43 there is a separate area to launch kayaks. I have mine on a trailer so I use the ramp. If your in a kayak, you may want to launch at the dirt ramp on the east side of Congress Lake Rd. It always produces something for me.
