I bought one of these rods a year and a half ago at full price and now have four because I've been so impressed with them. It was my first rod with micro eye guides and I was amazed at how much smoother casting with it was. Also, all models have a butt that is adjustable up to 10". This has been useful to me because when I am in my kayak and wearing a life vest I can make the but of my rod short so it doesn't constantly hit my vest; but when I am out of the kayak and don't have my life vest on I can make the butt of the rod longer and get awesome leverage from my elbow or side of my abdomen.

Being in the market for a new spinning rod, I may have to check these out. I didn't much care for micros on my casting setups and have since went back to normal guides. But, willing to see how they feel in a spinning outfit. I like the looks of the design of that first line guide. Different, but it looks like it'd smooth the cast out fairly well. The adjustable butt interests me quite a bit as well.

Any comparisons of different rods you've used? I'm talking weight/balance and sensitivity. I assume they've put up with decent amounts of abuse with the types of waters you tend to fish...?

I've not used many other rods but these, some Gander Mountain Guide Series IM8 rods and my only current spinning rod, a Gander Mountain Elite.

The Manleys are soft rods (a good thing if you have a brick wall hook set) so I prefer the fast action ones, even for cranking. I loved the Gander rods, but the Manleys are definitely more sensitive. I love jig fishing with a MH one because you can feel those bites on the drop even when you don't see them.

I tend to baby them but they have held up well. Plus, this is their warranty:
