Myself, my grandpa, and my uncle or ****** Loco on this forum made our annual trip up to smoothrock lake in wabakimi wilderness. We focused mainly on walleye but went after pike a few times as well. Overall it was a great trip with around 1,000 fish between the three of us. We had 45 walleye in the 18"+ class with the biggest being 25", 23.5, and a 23". We also managed two Northern pike that were in the 20 pound class. A 38" and a 40" both were extremely heavy for their length. One was caught casting while one was on a jig while fishing for walleye. Some pictures below show how good the trip was! The weather was pleasant for the better part of the week

This was my second trip to Smoothrock this year. The first trip was two couples where the ladies each caught a big northern(40 inches and 39 inches respectively)and showed us guys how to do it. Walleye fishing was spectacular as well. Year after year this wilderness area provides great fishing with super accommodations. Also big 16 foot boats and 20hp four stroke motors. This year there were very few mosquitoes and black flies.
