We didn't see any last weekend, but they've Ben schooling on alum for a while now.... the fresh shad hatch has really showed up so imagine any day now they'll be busting all over the place! Good luck an let us know. I miss catching the Hoover dam monster whitebass
Scott, only got 1 on Tuesday night... about 15 inches...they weren't really busting the surface, just got it trolling shad raps. Puts the tiny white bass i've been getting at Alum to shame. Hard for me to chase them with just a trolling motor.
Give me a shout if you get into them and I'll do the same!
I have been out and right at sun down... You will see the fish jump. Then cast your jig with a twister tail or swim bait and you will usually catch that fish. I have caught a lot like that
I was on Hoover last night and found a cove full of shad, they were everywhere. Not one Predator fish though, nothing biting and nothing breaking the surface.
Perhaps we left too soon though, was about 8 pm. We moved on after no hits.
Just went over Sunbury Rd bridge. Water looks great--good color and still up in the brush. Lot's of dimples all over the surface. Stand- by- too launch spinner baits.
Fished this morning from 6-10, was targeting saugeye but ended up with a bunch of cats and crappie but only one saugeye. Kept my eye out for white bass chasing shad but still didn't see any schools around this morning.
Was out tonight. Small schools of shad all over the place just under the surface of the water but didn't see any surface busting. Only caught a few crappies casting small shad-raps.
Wasnt hoover lol an wasnt white bass, but found some schools of smaller bass busting shad in open water like white bass do. Un forntanitly i didnt have any topwaters, but got a couple on a ul ripnrap. They were striking my line where it enters the water on my retreive....
