Hey guys just to let all you gm truck guys like myself I posted awhile ago that my exhaust manifold bolts had broken off its a 2008 Gmc 2500 hd it's a great truck other than the issue with the exhaust so I contacted Gmc everyday for awhile till I got up to upper management well they contacted me and did some research and hsd me take the truck do a local dealership so the dealership wants two grand to fix it and they won't gaurente that it won't happen again so she got back to me and offered a 1500 dollar discount above all other incentives there excuse was that I probley towed a heavy load and that what causes it so I informed her that I have a 3500 for towing equipment for work and the loads are nothing the truck should have had trouble with even if I did load it I don't overload the 2500 as its my personal truck and even I did tow or loaded it it should not have a problem as most people who buy 2500 serietà trucca font Bit Thiene for driveing around the city to run Arron's so they basically told me I'm s...t out of luck any ideas out there guys I'm goin to my mechanic to do the work but the bottom line is I have to pay for it the truck has 50 thousrnd miles on it I hate to dump the truck anyone here have this problem and if anybody has any ideas on what to do thank you guys
it is fairly common on the fords and chevys for the manifold bolts to rust away or snap. ive seen it on both many times. Ive even seen the chevy manifolds crack. It sucks and neither company has seemed to sort it out and fix it.
Are they broke off even with the manifold or is there a stub to get ahold of if not pull the manifold off and drill them out and use an easy out if there a stub heat it up with an acetelyne torch and use a stud remover tool its not really that hard of a job if you have the right tools
My 2500 with a 6.0 did the same thing a few times, finally replaced the bolts with studs and it never happened again, GM Rep told me it has to due with different expansion and contraction amounts of the bolts, heads and manifolds, in other words we don't have a clue or give a ratsazz
with the others on it being super common. Cheap bolts. When I had my performance shop, those bolts always got thrown away and replaced with studs.
