Really depressing to see the temps this weekend. Anyone going out anyway? Fishing is probably going to suck, it has me thinking night trip again but I sure have not had much success on those this year.

Also kind of funny, I caught most fish on the ultimate cold water bait, the blade on the hottest day of the year. Go figure. Fishing the blade can be fun, I swear every species of fish in the lake will eat those things. What a pain in the ass as much as they foul up though. I also think it is ridiculous the quality of hooks they put on those things. Literally you can catch 1-2 fish before they break, and god forbid you catch a big drum or cat. Ruined immediately, lol. But they are fun to fish. I like the VibE the best of what I've used, but man those hooks are junk.

Try a heavy mono or floro leader.the stiffness of the leader helps prevent the line an hooks tangling each other.
An btw congrats on a good day in the heat...

Saugeye : I like using the 1/8 ounce (smallest) VIBE they make. Even the big ones eat it. Would that heavier leader work still? Also I am opposed to leaders in general but I guess I could try it.

BFG: Never seen/heard of that brand. I'm in a lot of fishing shops. Could you say closest to Maumee you knows carries them? I'll def give them a try.

Take Summit Street out of Toledo...once you cross the Ottawa River there is a marina/shop on the right hand side. The folks in there are really nice...and they have Capt. Jay's blades in there. I want to say the smallest size I've seen is 3/4oz though...but I could be wrong.
