I made it to the river 3 times this week. Nothing too big. Last Friday got a 15 and a 10 pounder. We went twice during this week ,Monday, fished all night with nothing then caught three 10+- pounders within 5 mins of each other after daylight. Wednesday was better got a 27 and a 24 pounder and a 1 pounder on my bait rod. I had a takedown that came unbuttoned that I feel was a big one. it took down my war rod, bent to the water and it just popped out. I believe it was my fault for trying to use a circle hook on a war rod, wont happen again. It was baited with a 12+" channel cat. The 15 lber was also on a smaller channel cat, the rest were on drum cut bait. The 27 was on a drum head the size of a softball. All were in around 15 feet of water. The only bait I left the house with was night crawlers. Were getting ready for another adventure tonight. We caught so many channels drum and striped bass to count using small chunks of night crawler. This was in the R.C. Byrd pool. Good luck, out there and all flatheads were released unharmed, well with slightly sore mouths. lol
