I was going to post this in the market place forum but I have to have 10 posts before I can do so. I am going to try here and see if it works. Moderators, if I am doing wrong, slap my wrist.
I just joined OGF yesterday, and in the interest of getting to know you guys and gals, thought I would give a couple of outdoorsy things away.
First up is a Tasco World Class 3X9X40 World Class Scope. I got this scope in a trade a while back and I have no use for it. I did mount it on a .22 rifle just to check the functionality of it. The scope tracks well, holds zero, and the focus adjustment works as advertised. It is not new, but is in 97% plus condition. No scratches and the optics are clear.
Second is a nice Buck Knife with Sheath. The knife had (I emphasize HAD!) never been used until I caught my better half using it to open a cardboard box the other day. It is 7 1/2 inches long and has a 3 3/4 inch blade. The sheath is black cordura.
Here is the catch: I will pay for the shipping to get these things to the eventual owner. Both of them cannot go to the same person! The individual who winds up with the scope or knife must be a deserving kid under the age of 16. Maybe some of you know of a kid who owns a rifle in need of a scope to squirrel or rabbit hunt with, maybe to put on a varmint rifle, etc. Maybe some of you know of a kid who desperately needs a knife to carry around while he follows his grandpa into the woods, or will need a knife to cape out his first African Lion sometime in the future. Just my way of saying Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in the hope of bringing a smile to a kid's face.
One other caveat!! My wife can't find out about this as she thinks I am an old curmudgeon and scrooge to boot.
