Would like to ask if anyone is familiar with fishing spots available around Arcola Creek or Conneaut Creek that would allow for someone to fish who has very limited mobility. My dad who is in his early 80's, used to fish those areas and I would like to get him back. Only problem is he has difficulty walking and would need to fish in a spot where he could sit and basically plant himself in that spot. I was going to call Park dept. up there on Monday but thought I would post this as well. He has been fishing in Jacks Marina in Ashtabula the last few years and has not had any luck. We have caught a few nice fish there but not tremendous success. I was thinking about taking him down to ARU but was told there is a hill there he may not be able to handle?? Any thoughts or information would be appreciated...I am glad he is still trying to get out and enjoy the outdoors so I thought I would reach out to this forum. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
I know it isnt arcola or conneaut, but the Grand River Landing has easily accessible bank fishing. The parking lot and fishing area are both flat and the river is only about 100 feet from the river. Have talked to a lot of guys who have had success their when I am either launching or returning in my kayak! Hopefully you and your Dad can find some fish!
I was just at Grand River Landing yesterday for about an hour before the wind and rain. Saw one fish caught. That 100 ft stretch of river is about as good as it gets for accessibility to quality water. Good luck
CEI at night time for walleye. Very easy to fish I did 3 years ago in a leg cast and crutches.
