I took a road trip down to the river with high hopes that anything would feeding after the cold front and rising pressure. I was rewarded with 4 keeper sauger all 15 inches,2 good ones that got away , 6 undersized ones, and to my surprise a 10" perch.
Way-to-go!!! Sounds encouraging.
How many of those 15"ers had eggs, & what was the bait of 'their' choice?
My friends been having better luck with 1/4oz jigs & dark green twisters.
Thanks
Yeah, it's been slow for us too, we had just slightly better results a couple nights ago with 7 keepers. (minus the perch though) I don't know what happened, up till 2-3 weeks ago it was limits ever trip with some really good walleyes mixed in. Then all of a sudden it has been "working" to get 1/2 a limit.
bait? water temp? I don't know. maybe I just lost the touch for that tell-tale "tick".
Only one with eggs.I was using a double jig line 1/16 lead on top 3/8 hair on bottom with pink and yellow glitter hair. Most were caught on 3" bullnose minnows only 2 small ones were interested in the green/yellow twister. No takers on white , black, or orange/yellow.
Made it down to the dam again today.Really slow bite.1 16"walleye,1 15"sauger,and another 10" perch. All were female with eggs.
