Anyone ever use this lady out of center burg ohio.i just received a turkey from her that was 6 months late and has bare skin showing on multiple spots on wings and a hole in the rear and multiple pieces of job weld type material falling off of it. Not to mention the head was loose. I strongly recommend not using her and wanted to help the next person out with there trophy.

Man I hate to hear when people are not happy with a taxidermist. Hope your post helps someone else out. But a few questions/ pointers for you if I may.?.
1 did you bring this to her attention so that she could fix it or give you a reason it was this way?
2 there are all types of taxidermist out there, some are good, some are HAXadermist and some are just learning. Every taxidermist had to start somewhere.
3 did you see her work before you left your bird?

Just to be clear I do not know the taxidermist you are talking about and am in no way pointing a finger at her work or you for have her do the work. The bottom line in taxidermy is most of the time you get what you pay for. That being said $450 is not bottom of the barrel. Turkeys are one of the hardest mounts to do and some have what it takes and some just have the customers money. When looking for someone to do mounts for you in the future, look at their work, expect to pay for it ( because good work will last a lifetime, and should look good enough you will want to keep it that long) and expect to wait for it. Good taxidermist will have a back log. It will more than likely take about 12months. Also
Looking for a full time studio is a good idea. Not that part time taxidermist are not as good, but a lot is to be said about someone that makes a living and not just vacation money at something. They do it day in and day out so the quality should be there if the talent is there. Hope this helps someone[emoji2]

I agree with everything you said and I did see some of her work and she had a turkey mounted the same way mine was and it looked flawless. She claimed to do all of Delaware county's work I'm assuming for museums and she took her time on it for 1 year and 3 months. I questioned the feathers not laying right and she said she didn't know what happened and the head falling of should stay on the wall not to mention my mount which was a flying mount looked nothing like her showpiece. I tried to do my due diligence and thought she checked out and just wanted to help the next guy out.

Man again I hate to hear that!! Thanks for giving everyone a heads up!! One major trick of the trade is to fill a showroom with competition work. A competition piece can take 5-10x longer than a commercial piece. A new client should always ask to see customers work if possible. I only put customers work in my showroom just for this reason. Bait and switch will only make people mad and dissatisfied clients does not = a happy/return client!! Good luck on your next search.
Now for a shameless plug.....I run a fulltime studio called New Creations Taxidermy and Deer Processing in Logan Ohio. We can be found online and also have a Facebook page. If I can help you with a mount or help you find someone closer to you I would be glad to help!! Jeremy
