Vance's in Obetz was introducing Winchester Train and Defend ammo. Whether it is new I dont know. I went because they were providing ammo and range time at no cost. As an added benefit, you were also able to shoot 9mm, 40 cal, and a .380 browning in 1911 style. I passed on the 9 and 40, but brought my own S&W bodyguard for the .380. I also shot the browning. The ammo was fine and I probably would consider buying some. The Train version was FMJ, and the Defend was JHP. The big attraction according to Winchester was you can use the Train in the range, then load up with the Defend ammo for your defense ammo and not see a difference in accuracy or power. Saving you money on ammo and range time. I could not tell a difference between the two loads. The Defend when shot into a gel block went about 6 inchs and mushroomed perfectly and stopped. the Train version just about went through the gel block. Both Train and Defend traveled at 950 f/s. I cant remember the grain size of the 380... The Browning 380, well, I'd say wait on buying it. Everyone that used it had a jam issue. The other handguns did not. I also was able to fire a Glock .380. I was totally taken aback at the accuracy of it. In fact, thinking of moving this S&W bodyguard and get a Glock.
