Default Gas-Oil Mix Question

I bought this fancy Oil mix stuff made specificaly for water cooled boat motors, it is Evinrude/Johnson XD-30 oil. anyways nowhere on the package or on the website does it say how much to mix per gallon of regular gas ( 50:1 ratio) for use and i know every other 2 cycle engine oil has different amounts to use so Im at a loss and its Sunday and all 12 dealers I called or looked up the websites for are all closed today so I really want to run the boat tonight so can anyone help me out here?? Many thanks

just put in 1 oz. per every 50 ounces per gas .that never changes.i use xd 30 too and the xd 50 is a better synthetic blend and the xd 100 i think is all synthetic.your mix ratio stays the same.50 to 1. that should come out to 15 ounces of oil for 6 gallons of gas if my memory serves me right. i have VRO so i don't have to mix my oil.

should be 7 bucks a quart??????????or a lot cheaper at gander mtn. xd 30 is $23.95 at gander.thats $6.00 a quart.i hope you didn't pay $7.00 a pint.no matter what oil you use ,even walmart pensoil tcw3 oil, you still mix it 50:1 =128 ounces per gallon 2 1/2 ounces per gallon x 6 gallons = 15 OUNCES. you can use any outboard oil as long as it is TCW3 rated. i have used the penzoil in my rude .

I bought a neat measuring bottle at Walmart. It gives various oil-gas ratios and you look for the amount of gas you have and it gives the amount of oil needed. You put the oil in the bottle and add to your gas. Saves a lot of hassle figuring it out..

Yeah your right, it was 7 bucks a Quart, not pint, siorry, from a dealer even worse, I had a credit and couldnt find anything else to buy with it, Then I had to figure out a gallon of gas weighs six lbs so for the 4 gallons of gas I added to the tank, that would be about 7.75 ozs. Just less then 2 oz to the gallon. ( I did write the formula down on the bottle i have to make sure I dont forget it.)

Thanks for the help and advice!

NO, 4 gallons would take 10 ounces of oil. liquids weigh 6pounds per gallon anyway. but ounces IS NOT weight it is liquid measurement. pint is =16 oz, quart = 32oz. gallon 128 ounces. do not weigh your gas. when you fill up,you will know how many gallons you put in,then add 2 1/2 ounces of oil for every gallon you put in your tank.

Water is 8 pounds to the gallon, gas is 6 pounds to the gallon. Thats why gas and oil float on water.
