Default Any Explanations?

BAFFLED I am...

In reformatting recently I installed SP2 to my pc and MS Antispyware beta. Since that reformat I have yet toget my first piece of spyware or adware, at least I have yet to have MS Antispyware find one single piece, and I have been updating. I also don't let it continue running in the background.
I was always needing to run Spybot, and Adaware regularly. (Each one missed some that the other found.)

Last night after this thread, I decided to download Spybot's new version 1.4 and test the MS Antispyware. After I got it installed, I ran it and also found not one piece of spyware?! This, after months of normal, heavy use of surfing?
I know its a good problem to have, but I am still wondering whats up since I haven't let it run in the background?
Does my XP have antispyware running in the background?

I actually believe that MS's antispyware program is quality for once. It seems to be working like a charm and I haven't had a spyware issue since installing it.
