My 2 favorite things for crappie are white twistertails on a 1/16oz jig and I have these little white crankbaits that have rattles in them that are awsome if the water is a little muddy. I think they are storm cranks but they look like Yozuri snap beans.

OK, what is the best baits for bluegills? Same? I'm going to take my grandson to a children's fishing derby this weekend (Spring Lakes Park in Bellbrook), and I'd love it if he caught the most! Minnows? Crickets? Any MORE luck on one type bait than another? What's your experience? (Do the little teeny "Crappie Bites" colored marshmallows work??)

I like waxworms for gills when fishing with my daughters.

Have fun!

Default in my experience...

I used to go after alot of big bluegills to try and get Fish Ohio awards. My favorite bait above everything is a cut piece of chicken liver on a smaller size hook. You could catch 100 + on one tub of livers works amazing.
