Cabela's has a free android app for logging catches and conditions as well as getting weather and such. Location based too! Haven't used it yet since I haven't made it out fishing, but I guess we'll see.

I am right there with you dstiner.
The apps that I use while fishing are:
1)The Weather Channel - for obvious reasons
2)My Tracks - to track where I went and to notate my favorite spots
3)Google Sky - because it is cool
4)MLB At Bat (not free) - to listen to the Reds
5)iHeart Radio - when there isn't a game and want to listen to some Music
6)Google Maps - for obvious reasons
7)Whatever Camera App my phone has

That my tracks sounds interesting i may have to check it out..
As for MLB at bat im sorry you have to pay to listen to the reds i usually just take an mp3 player out to catch my Indians games. saves on the battery life on my phone which allows for more pics! . ..once my phone goes to 25% it won't open my camera.. A couple nice cats became one of those "fishing stories" because that :-/

any body ever try those portable battery packs? i bought one and returned it because it was junk and couldn't do any of what it claimed..but been eyeing a targus ipad battery pack ($50)..supposedly can recharge my droid up to 3 times on single charge of the pack but that last one (rayovac) couldn't even charge my mp3 player up to three times.. Barely handled a half charge .. If anyone's messed with these and know a good one im looking for something to keep me charged and snapping pics one day long yakking trips

First off how do you catch an Indians game using an mp3 player thought that MLB had all rights over the internet?
Secondly, I can listen to any game and there are a ton of other things too long to go into to detail with this app. (I am a BIG baseball fan.)

My Tracks = Awesome
As far as your portable battery pack thing....A vendor of mine gave me this Car/Home Outlet/9volt battery charger. It charges from my car great, it charges from any outlet great and it charges from a 9 volt battery. I haven't tested how good yet but I hooked one up and it was charging my phone. The product is called Hottips Battery Charger. Here is the best link I could find on the fly:

I paid like $15 for the app and don't have to be in range of the radio signal to hear the game. I ,also, have Verizon so I get NFL Mobile for free.

Never tried the cabelas app, but I use one called "my fishing journal widget".
It records weather, location, and any other data you can think of. A real nice app. Its on the google play store.
