..than estuary fishing.

Theres no place I'd rather catch steelhead...hearing the waves crashing the shoreline, enjoying the view while bangin' some steel and sippin' on some fine spirits....Wheres your preferred place to slam 'em?

Aaaaaaaahhhhh yes! In the surf is where I enjoy feeding my psychosis........ I like to be in position before the sun shows its face. And I agree, the sound of the surf, the view even the smell in the air!
Can't be beat!

The surf is the best. I like to use my 9' noodle with 8# mono casting size 4 vibrax or 3/8-1/2 spoons.

I don't actually fish right in the lake...I fish the outflow of the river/stream out into the lake...Of course, sometimes my float makes it out into the surf of the lake from the stream flow....This is certainly a timing thing. Its most productive when the lake if fairly calm and when the fish are running into the river from the lake.

Thanks. I've thought about doing it in Michigan the way you mentioned. Just haven't done it yet. The rivers there are full of salmon so no need to really try it.
