Go get it checked. Looks similar to something my granddaughter had last week. The daughter is at work so i can't get the name. They said it is usually in young children but is contagious. Easily treatable and went away quick.
Not saying this is what it is, but the only bug bites (if it is in fact bug bites) that I can remember that are in a straight line in a series of three are bedbugs. They usually don't swell like that until about a week or so after the bite. Definitely get it checked out, it has been a couple years since my college parasitology course...
Could it be Cooties? Usually only young people get them
Circle circle dot dot, now I have my cooties shot!
I thought about the bug bits, but as you pointed out normally that normally happenes on kayak trips from spiders, and up higher in the leg where they get caught in the shorts after going through some trees.
I still think it is posion umac, but the pain that is around it has me a little worried.
I don't have the answer but I do have similar spots on my leg from a couple of days ago. Mine are more random and not in a line like yours and yours appears to be a bit more irritated than mine. I have about half a dozen spots with only three being more severe. They are quite red around them and are pretty sore to the touch. They are not itchy in any way though. I was figuring that mine were perhaps spider bites. It was a bit warm in our bedroom a couple of nights ago and so I had slept most of the night with that leg out of the covers. The next day is the first I noticed them. I am in the third day on them and I am still waiting to see improvement. The first day a couple of them had a white puss pimple in the center which popped and began to scab over. I have not really come up with anything that seemed to help as far as lotion, salve, etc.
Hand-foot-and-mouth disease is rampnt this year to the point that adults are getting it too. It doesn't always manifest itself in adults as you would expect in children. Better take the GF's advice dude. . . . I know, I hate the doctor too!
Those look like bed bug bites. Health care workers call it "breakfast, lunch and dinner". They come in three or more bites. It's a bad deal. Those critters are very hard to get rid of. They are becoming rather common these days for some reason.

This could be. Had a 4y/o and his mother get this about a month and a half ago. It was a bit more widespread than this though. Not by much. His didn't itch. Hers hurt a bit. But yeah, this is my guess.
Virginia creeper has a chemical in it that causes almost a burn-type reaction. Does it burn moreso than itch? That is usually superficial though, no big bumps.
Also, by your description of "hard" skin, it sounds like a spider bite. If it gets a head and a skin or mucus plug, it's probably a venomous bite of some sort.

thats my guess my daughter had it a month or so ago adults can get it but usually not as bad as the kids
