Where is a good place near maumee to find some bluegill to use as live bait?

There is a small lake across from sidecut park on maumee side. I went there 2 weeks ago and caught 10+ blue gills in 40 mins. All fish were around 3-4 inches.

That'd be Seigert Lake. Place is loaded with them. Used to be a fun place to fish for bigger fish till it got overfished. Watch where you cast and reel in as there are some thick weeds and tree branches near shore along with some other items riff raff throw in there. Just be sure to pick up after yourself. Some careless fisherman left his tangled line on a bush and a duck got tangled in it and broke its foot a few weeks ago. I was able to catch it and give it to a park ranger who took it to Nature's Nursery for rehabilitation.

I've not had a lot of luck in Siegert lake (the one closer to Jerome rapids), but I have caught gills out of Silver Lake (the one at the bottom of the hill, across from Bluegrass island on the North side).

My $0.02 worth.

I've seen some big fish jumping out of water when I was fishing for gills. Did anybody find bass outta there?

Most of the places the big ones hide out are inaccessible from shore fishing. I've been thinking about renting a kayak for a day and paddling around there and casting out.
Forgot to mention there are some big ticks there so check your clothes before you leave.
