Exclamation Turtle season is upon us

July 1st is fast approaching and I have my smoker/grill ready to go. Time to avenge myself and harvest those manical feasting beasties to which I have been donating my bait in order to make them nice and big and healthy.
Cant wait, MMM MMM MMM.

I have been plotting my revenge on these little fellas since I started fishing again at the beginning of May. Game time!

anybody catch any turtles yet? I am wanting to try this myself. I have never eaten turtle before but I hear it is good and want to give it a try. I work nights and I am going to set some lines in the Stillwater on my way to work and check them when I get done. Any suggestion for bait? I am thinking hotdogs and bluegill.

Bluegill heads and beef heart are some of the favorites with my family. Fry turtle like chicken in a pan till golden brown, then add half inch water after draining grease. Cover pan at 325 n oven for 3hrs, then uncover for 30minutes. Great eating with mashed taters and make homemade gravy out of turtle fry pan
