About a month ago there was a thread discussing the issues of people fishing from the docks and interfering with boats putting in or taking out.
My son and I went out to CC yesterday and noticed that there is now a sign posted prohibiting fishing from the dock. Not that it made any difference, there were three teenagers fishing there when we put in and they were still at it 3 hours later when we pulled out.
Also, the water there was as clear as I have ever seen it, at least 30" vis near the shore down by the dam. That was very encouraging considering all the hot weather we have had.

i was at cc yesterday as well and they have signs posted on the northpool ramp but there was plenty of people fishing off the docks i guess the rules dont apply to them..
No rain = no runoff= clear water. However I know what you're saying about the weather. The water is still somewhat cool- wait until August when it's in the upper 80's and the algae is living it up.
I noticed how clear the water was when I was there- very nice looking for Caesar Creek.
If there's no one to enforce, it people are going to continue fishing the docks. I use to fish the docks, but I'm not taking a chance now that they posted signs. I know others that will keep on fishing them until they start fining people. I called the park office today to confirm the report, and they said its always been No Fishing from Docks and now they've posted signs.
Those signs were also posted at Cowan for several years and no one paid attention to them. I suspect these people are relatives of the boaters who run their larger than 10 HP motors on the lake.
Fishing from the docks represents a danger to both the boat dock fishermen and boaters alike. They are narrow floating docks. They rock back and forth when one person walks on them. When you have more than one person walking on them people lose their footing and balance. When you have dock fishermen with rods out, chairs, tackle box , lanterns and bait buckets there is the potential for people tripping or being knock off the dock. They were not designed to be fishing piers.
There use to be no fishing signs at all the main docks. But someone decided, in their infinite stupidity, to take them down. There seems to be more and more people on the docks especially at dusk. This is a safety issue that needs to address before someone gets hurt or shot. If you have an issue at the docks at CC call 513-932-4080.
Take heart dock fisherman. If and when the marina is complete, there is a pretty nice fishing pier included in the current design.
Lol, I thought you'd like that Mason. We'll need to put the Ranger on speed dial.

I already have him on there. His number 937-302-6640...........His name is Officer Creech
I put it on there last year when the lake was closed because of flooding. I put everyone I could find to call through hell till they opened the lake back up. Haven't talked with him since they did.
