Thumbs down Shreve Lake

Fished Shreve yesterday. Water temps at 52. Marked a lot of crappie at the North end of the lake and a lot of carp but not much else. The west end of the lake was full of blunt nose minnows I think they were. Millions of them moving all around the west end of the lake. I used to catch a lot of bass in this lake but I just could not find them yesterday. I heard from a local farmer that a lot of fish were removed to another lake. Could not mark a single fish in deep water but as mentioned the north end where all the cut off trees are were full of nice size crappie.

caught 2 largemouth bass this morning on a lipless crankbait...both were 14 inches

marked fish in 4 to 6 feet of water. i too used to catch good sized bass here but have not fished it nearly as much the last couple of years. not sure what the story is...haven't heard anything on fish being removed but it is possible.

North end of lake is a forest sawed off about 1/2" below the water but is full of crappie. Nice bass in this lake as well. Two years ago I hit a monster pike I think it was but couldn't get him in lost it in the sawed off trees.

Is the ice off? I haven't been out to look this year. Last year my cousin and I were out every other weekend and caught decent bass every time we went out. Averaged around 3 pounds.

I was out bout month ago and ice was good havent been out there since. With all the rain and warm weather I am thinking the shore prob isn't that safe. I caught small bass, gills and few cats.
