Canoe repair? ? ?

I have a plastic canoe that has a 5 inch crack in it on the port side just above the license. . . I can see the foam inside and was wondering how in the world i can fix it??

Do a search on the internet, if its the normal poly stuff, all you need is a spare chunk of the plastic, a torch, and a steady hand. If it exotic type of material, who knows.
