Big Fish! Toledo Water Intake

Has anyone been fishing around the intake or out at the gravel pit? Sure would like to hear about the action around this part of the lake. Planning to head up there when my schedule and the weather allow. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info. Hope there are more extreme western basin fishermen on here.

The last 2 times I've been out there has been 1 boat by the intake and about 2-3 up close. With gas prices the way they are that isn't a good sign that the close bite is happening. Most are running 8-14 miles out.

We took a three man limit this am (8a-12p). Steady action. We were btwn the shippping channel and the Lost Penisula Marina area. We were in a pack of boats. Light bite right on the bottom, in 6' FOW. That is not a typo - 6' FOW. No trash fish, some sorting. Overall they were on the smaller side 7.5 -9", although we did pick up 6-7 jumbos. Orange blades on the spreaders worked best. They even took small peices of crawlers when we ran out of bait, although not as partial to the crawlers.
