I hit the LMR in warren county this morning for a couple hours. The water was only up a couple inches from yesterday, I think most of the rain was south so it didn't effect up here as much. The fish were jumping when I arrived so I tried the Zulu on my ultra-light rod that I use to troll while paddling. I had a couple nice hits on it but they weren't holding onto it. I pulled the yak over to one of my favorite spots and landed this nice 16" on the pearl weightless Zulu. It was a blast reeling it in on the ultra-light. The only other fish I got with the Zulu was a 24"+ carp I snagged after I weighted it down with a swivel. It gave a nice fight on the ultra-light too but luckily I was able to shake it off the hook next to the boat so he didn't slime up my gear and stink it up for a week. I also caught this almost 18" smallie on a Rebel Craw, he hit it hard about 10 feet away from the boat. No luck with the tubes today, I also tried the Strike King Creature for a bit with no bites.
I see that a Fish Ohio smallie is 20" but I see very few, if any reports of them that big on here. How many of you have one that big this year?
No 20s this year yet out of the river. I caught some up in Quetico this year. I have three 19s and six others that were between 18 and 19 inches. I couldn't tell you how many 16 and 17s this year. Still have some time left to find a 20 this year.
I went to eastfork lake today for a change up, (I walked by the river this morning, it looked like chocolate milk, so I didn't even want to try) and caught a tiiiinny little bluegill and a tiiiinny little striper. I then read your post "quanity not quality," and see that you tagged an 18" smallie!! You, sir, are a liar! 18" is a HELL of a bass. I am stuck at 17" this year and can't seem to crack it. I'm on the nightshift so I'm only able to get out in the dead heat of the day, so that is the excuse I am going to give myself for not breaking 17"! Nice fishin'! Are you using Morgan's livery? I have been itchin' to get north on the LMR or west to the GMR.

Thanks, I'll definitely take an 18 any day, you may have your l's and n's crossed up on the thread title. I don't use a livery, in fact I avoid the livery routes, I just put in and paddle downstream a bit then paddle/wade back upstream.

Definitely did! Long night last night! Regardless, nice fishing!
