My family and some friends of ours spent this past weekend camping at Berlin. On a side note we thought the campground and facilities were exceptional. Any how I cant believe how low the water is. My boat was being a female dog. I finally got it running properly Sunday afternoon and we went out 2 teenagers my wife and the dog and myself. I got out on the open water and wanted to hammer on her just to see if she was gonna run or puke. The water was so low I had to be careful. I did let her fly a bit and she ran okay. My son wanted to try to ski.... okay I have skied before but have never pulled a skier. So between two novices it didnt go well. He tried like hell and got tired. I dont know if it was him or me but we will try again. So many boats and jetskis on the lake yesterday I didnt even try to fish. All in all it was a good weekend.
But normally, the water level at this time of yr is about 6 to 8 above what it is now. (no willows to fish this year!!) This drought is hurting alot of things....crops and lakes are probably two of the worst!!

What is the reason thet lower it? I don't buy the "regulate OH river levels, as I travel all along the OH from Pittsburgh to Paducah and Berlin hold about 30 seconds worth of OH river water.
Ummm......... Berlin isn't the only reservoir, and the Mahoning river isn't the only river that feeds the Ohio river. Actually the Mahoning feeds the Beaver river. The total drainage area of the Ohio River is 189,422 square miles. You can choose not to believe that Berlin's water is used for the Ohio River if you want to. After all .... there are people that believe in Bigfoot.
Seen lots of torn up props here lately. I heard a rumor that cause of the water level that a certain launch ramp may close up early, way early. I did notice that from the usace page that milton is at summer full pool. Just be smart and stick to the deeper areas for going fast.
