Thumbs up Sandbar 7/2

Fished the southern end of the bar this afternoon. Watched numerous boats hightailing it out to the buoy. Started out as a white bass kinda day and I was about to head north with everyone else but then all of a sudden I found myself catching them so fast I could only get one line in the water. Limited in a 45 minute stretch and just played catch and release for awhile . Wierd, but wild- fishing by yourself and just hauling them in as fast as I could get a line down. 2 oz 75 back, speed 1.5mph,colorado blade in white and purple.

Nice Job. I often wonder just how many hunger eyes we all pass up to go were "everyone" is going. I know I'm guilty. I love to read reports like this. -Koz

I had a stubborn streak and just decided there HAD to be fish in closer-they cant all go north! Took awhile and I was really tempted to follow the pack but that's really a haul up there to the buoy and if the wind kicks up its a bear getting back so I really wanted to see what spots I could mark in closer.

Were you seeing good fishfinders marks on the sandbar? i was out last saturday and didn't see too many. Good to hear you you only have to got he standard distance from Lorain ro Vermillion to get walleye in July in spite of the continued heat wave.

Marks were pretty goood just on the edge and then over top of the bar. Once you got a fair distance from the bar the only fish were white bass.
