Went trolling on my home lake saturday. Hoped to catch either walleyes or hybrids. Used a jointed rapala #7 on one rod and put a watermelon / copper back spoon on the other rod with a one oz tadpole back 55ft w/ a board. Came up near a sunken roadbed and went parallel to it. Got a double header. One 2lb and a 12+ lber that went 28". This fish was fat. Glad i had the drag set pretty loose with the clicker on or that fish would have ripped my rod right out of the boat. Thought i had snagged the road but that fish was pulling drag way faster than i was moving. Almost dropped the first pole with the smaller fish but kept my cool and got it in before i picked the other rod out of the holder. The fish had screamed off over 200ft before i got to it. Got it too the boat and the only net i had on board, my crappie net, looked to small to handle it but i tired it out and guided it into the net. Not bad for an old man.
