Default Lmr Saturday morning

I got out to the lmr at sunrise this Saturday morning. It started of slow for me but as i worked up river things really took off. Ended the day with 40+ fish between two of us. This was the first time I caught one of these. Still not sure what it is. had some very nice smallmouth. This is the only one that I snagged a picture of. All together we had a great day.

My friends and I call those freshwater drum, some people call them "white perch". They usually grunt when they are out of the water, giving them the nickname "Croakers". I've heard they are actually pretty tasty, too.

I've seen people kill sheepshead because they call them a "trash fish", simply because they wanted to catch a catfish instead. I have always liked catching them; they are plentiful, they fight hard, they get pretty big, and I have caught them on everything. I've even tried eating them, they aren't the best but they will do if your hungry.

Nice fish. What were they biting on? A buddy and I like to wade up the lmr with crawdads but don't catch bigger fish.

We caught everything on repala crank baits. If you look closely you can see the one I caught the drum on.
