I am using Firefox and have not noticed it at all. It may be something just related to IE although I don't have any idea what it may be. I did try it just a bit now with IE and it didn't do it either. It is hard to tell what it is without having it happen to mine.
A workaround for now would be that you can click on the folder listing at the top of the thread. You should see the links to the forum areas laid out according to where you are. For example this thread shows the following.
Quote:
Ohio Game Fishing Community > General Discussions > The Lounge
Each area is hyperlinked so that if you want to go back to the lounge you can click that.

I have Firefox on my office computer and have never had it happen here. On my laptop, that I travel with, I have Microsoft/IE and it happens probably one in every eight or ten times I hit the "back" button on this site. I just hit the "new post" tab and start over. I sometimes give up easily.

I believe I'll go fishing.
Ok, so it sounds like this is only effecting IE..version doesn't matter? I'll do some research on the vb forums and see if this is effecting other vb based sites.

At work we use Windows machines and one of the main pieces of software we use is built on Silverlight (a proprietary Microsoft product) and the software runs better in Firefox or Chrome than it does IE... This always cracks me up.

I'm just sayin'...can't expect much when using a piece of software that has been subpar for most of a decade.
It's all a matter perspective... on another forum I belong to for the last 6 years it's been a race about who can build a better mouse trap, they switched 3 times opting to go with a proprietary "custom" made forum that could have been coded better by the high school computer club. Finally this month they made a switch to VBulletin, a tried and true forum software package. Even then, their programmers have found ways to flub that up with their "tweaks".
Bugs are being worked on as we speak... how would everyone like it if you had to sign on multiple times each visit??
This software may be old and not perfect, but the folks that run it are familiar with it's downfalls and do a pretty good job of keeping it running as seamless as possible.

I was talking about IE not vBulletin.
