Default Kayak Zara Spook fishing

Has anyone figured a good method to fishing spooks and walk the dog type baits in a kayak? When you are sitting it just doesnt work as well.

You might try using a Lucky Craft Sammy. I don't know that its any more productive than a Spook, but it walks the dog a whole lot easier.

A shorter(5'6" or 6"), med hvy/stiff action should do the trick. I have an old 6 ft lightning rod MVP and an All Star t30x 5'6" that used to work great for spooks in my canoe for river fishing.

It's hard to make it move right being so close to the water. I find that I usually get pretty good action on long casts, but it decreases the closer I get to the yak. Use PowerPro so you don't get a lot of stretch when you are trying to hook those long distance bites.

I have found that if I cast towards the bow of the kayak and really pitch it out there, things are a little easier. I guess the whole idea is to get the fish to take the lure before you have to bring it close to the boat!
