Got my first Fish Ohio Channel Cat at Buckeye Lake last night!
We hit the ramp about 9 pm after stopping at a known bluegill hot spot to catch some bait.
Started out bad when some moron in a ski boat drove almost into us while we were anchored, with full lights on, he almost hit the anchor line , and he did manage to wind all 160 yards of line on one of my poles into his prop.
4 of us on the boat let him know what we thought, all while putting the 5 million candlepower spotlight on him and his drunken buddies from 30 feet away.
After the blood pressure went down we went back to fishing and I caught a 26.75 inch channel cat that weighed just over 7 lbs. Most of the big ones we caught for the night were on bluegills, some live, some cut. Caught one on night crawlers and one on chicken liver.
We left the lake around 5 am, bites were slow the last hour or so but we did get a few at the end, bringing 7 fish home for a cook out on Sunday
Love all the advice I get from these forums! Stay cool if you're out on the water today, it's going to be hot.
