I have heard mixed reports about the jig bite being nearly over. I sure hope not, I have yet to get out. I know the weather has been crazy but do you think it's really coming to and end already?
I'm not the most knowledgeable fisherman, and I don't really get to go out as much as a lot of others, so I tend to be out of the know a lot. That is why we have OGF lol. I wanted to get the wife out before she started school back up, she works full time and does school full time and I wanted to get her first walleye this week, but don't want to drive 45 mins for nothing. We have a limited time slot when we would be able to get out so, if it's the "end" I will just stay close to home and try for some perch.
I doubt that every Walleye in the Western Basin spawns at the same time, got a full moon comin and it should bring more spawners. Even if they are done, they don't disappear, they will still be there with the feed bag on!!!
It's over stay home, every single male in the lake is in Geneva already

"You'd think that after years and years of doing the same old thing thing on Lake Erie, that this walleye fishing would get old...But, it never does..."
Drive 45 minutes for nothing! I'd walk that far to fish the western basin right now. Its a 4 hour drive for us and we look for any half decent opportunity. This time of year curing cabin fever is a good enough reason to get on the water. Not to mention the fact that you're talking about the potential for some darn fast action with any luck at all... which is always a factor anyway right? Go for it!
