We went into this tourney know we were going to have to cover a lot of water from the islands to Sheffield using are Lowrance electronics to find big fish migrating east. So we fished just east of kellys to Sheffield and from south to north in the same area. Prefishing was tough for us the really only thing we really knew for sure is that the big fish were deeper. Papa and Jason on the last day of prefish in the afternoon found a big school of migrating fish just west of the lorain dump gorging on smelt shad and perch
Day one we headed there boy was it rough and man was I glad we were in a StarCraft 2050 Stx with smooth move ultras. I looked at Nicholas and said this is Starcraft water.
We ended up with a sweet bag of 43.6 lbs for day one and 41.7 on day 2 for are first major win against the best of the best.
Program for us was 3 ouncers 45 to 65 and dipseys 45 to 70 on a 3.5
Colors were pink panties chart and pink back and Bob bells cranberry crusher pink back speed 1.1 to 1.3
Special thanks to Steve Carlson and Dan palmer for putting on a great show. My teammates papa Jason, Kolb, uncle Paul, Joe and Brett. Also great job on your finishes as well. To all of are sponsors. Starcraft, Mercury, Cisco,Lowrance, Worldwide Marine Insurance, Vics Sportcenter, Offshore Tackle, North Coast Custom Rods, Silver Streak, JT Custom Tackle, Pro Cure, Rapala, Maxima, Rodmakers shop, Erie Outfitters, Big Papa Sports, with out you guys we wouldn't be able to do what we do. Tons of pics coming on Fb and on my web page.
Privateer is a big boat - Baha 299 SportFish fully rigged as a trolling charter boat - and i would like to run a full program -- thus would like 4-6-bodies on the boat so can run lots of lines... I consider this to be "prefishing" since it is still early season over here - that means this is NOT a charter! Drop me a PM with a phone number if you are interested - I will return calls late in the week (thur/fri).

Well I have been trying to get out on the river as much as possible, as this will be my last week in Ohio before I leave to go out to Wyoming for the summer. So, I decided to hit the river in a popular spot with a few of my friends. We killed them, mainly a lot of cats like 10 or 12 of them, with 7 saugeye 5 that were keepers that we let go, a few smallies and largemouths mixed in as well. We fished my honeyhole and these guys that were fishing down river from us saw that we were killing them. So they ended up trying to take our spot, we didn't really say anything since we were in shock but I'm pretty sure we made them mad because we were bringing in fish almost every cast. The most ironic thing was that they both had on monster saugeye (which I don't even know how they achieved this) and they were horsing them in and snapped them both times. But all in all for 2 hours I think we had a really good day!

Hey guys,
As I look at my summer schedule I'll have quite a few open days in July and August and some in June. I'm going to be working at a local marina a few days a week but was thinking of other ideas to make money. I thought about guiding on buckeye lake. I'm thinking bass, crappie, blue gill, and saugeye. Crappie would be what I'm best at, I would guarantee 15 keepers or free. I would guarantee a one man limit on eyes. 30 bluegill guarantee, but bass are a struggle so probably no guarantees. Maybe I could do a carp/catfish as well. Are there any legalities required in this idea? I understand the safety aspect and would require life jackets. But would I need a guide license or something if I guided on the side. I wouldn't be advertising much or anything. I would add a little extra to do the cleaning if they would like. I would be responsible for all set ups and all things fishing.
Any tips or sites I should check out?
I barely got him on the bank, the line snapped as soon as I jumped in the water to get him out then I had to corral him for a minute or so until I got a good grip in his mouth to pull him out.
