Fishing For Friends

Well as many of you know this years outing will be held June 5th. at Grand lake st. marys from 8am. till 1pm.This is a special needs outing just to get some of these folks out and to enjoy a day of fishing.last year was a great success. we had 26 kids and adults attend with about 30 volenteers.we are hoping to get around 40 folks signed up this year. so far we have 11 signed up with ages between 7 and 64.this year eveyone will recieve a medalion with a red ,white and blue ribbon. i`ll try to post a pic of it later.i have recieved donations from several members and alot more are going to bring and send door prizes. thank you to everyone for helping me do this.we could use some more help to help finish this up. if anyone would like to donate anything i`ll give my info at the botton of this thread.

we will provide a continental breakfast to get things started and lunch to help round out the day.after lunch we`ll give out awards and door prizes with a few special awards going to biggest fish,smallest fish, most fish caught,and the most fun award. we`ll keep it going as long as anyone wants to fish. this thing could go on all day if they had their way.

Count me in. I tried awile back to get one started at americana and it fell through. But I would consider it a honor to help out. I dont know if you contacted zebco? But they were very helpfull and sent me special prices on fishing rods and reels. At the time they offerd me a chance to buy 100 z-glass rods with 202 reels loaded with fishing line for around a $1000. They even sent me 2 (Take a kid fishing banners) And all of this was done through there web site. One more thing sams/walmart loves to help out on things like this. Take your pics from last year to the store manager and ask him/her for maybe pop/hot dog/hamburger donations. If they wont help you up there. I know the local Sams down here will help. Its nice to have a wife that has work there for 15 years. So let me know. But If the date changes let me know and I will have to switch days with someone. I have off Fridays and Saturdays. And if somthing happens and I cant come I will send someone some King Island passes to be given to the winner/winners. Keep up the hard work. There are some kids out there that needs a smile put back on there faces.

Gunner-thanks for the help. i sent out letters to all the major tackel companies so hopefully we`ll get afew goodies.PM me your Phone # and i`ll fill you in on our wal-mart up here. i don`t think we`ll be going to them for anything, but if you can get anything from sam`s that would be great. the Kings Island passes would be just to cool some of the kids have DR. bills so high that this may be the only chance to get to go.i`m sure that will be a true high lite for them .

My wife said she needs a letter asking for donations for your cause. She said you can email it to me and I can take a print of it to Sams. I just brought home the tickets monday. And I am trying to decide how many to give away to each of the top three or four. But email me and tell me what you could use from sams and I will see what I can do,And I will get back with you ;) If you dont have time to rewrite the letter let me know and I will get sams fax number and you can get it sent to my wife. Okay I got the 2 main files done but I would need the expertise of Mrfish or someone who can resize the images. I saved my powerpoint as .jpeg files and do not have a program to resize from work. I can do it from home this evening though. I think it looks pretty good!

From dayton,cincinnati- 75 N. to 29 W.(St.Marys exit 93) follow 29 to 274 W. in to New Breman. @ the stop light in Breman make a right onto st.rt 66 N. to St. Marys.
at the 3rd stop light make a left Spring St.next light make a right onto wayne st.@ the 2nd. stop light make a left this is Jackson st.(Celina rd.,703).folow this to St Rt 364 make a left go over the RR tracks 2nd road on the right then a left you should be able to see the shelter house from there. we are at the first one on east bank road.

I am leaving this morning to head up there with my wife and son. I found out about the fish hatchery. We had to call to set up a tour. So today at 10.30 We get a tour of the place. Should be fun. They said that this was a busy time of the year because they are draining the holder ponds. And getting them ready for different fish.

I had a great time at the outing and finally meeting some of the guys to put there user names together. Thanks to Jerry and his family and AK for there generous hospitality at the campgrounds afterwards. I'll be getting a date together for early fall at Loramie with you all. Again thanks Glenn

I was thrilled to be a small part of this years event. I was also humbled. I met quite a few members from this area of Ohio from the OGF, and a couple more from various locations. It was GREAT guys to finally meet you. This event is one that I will always remember, and like I said, was a real eye opener for myself. Them kids are fantastic to be around. I thought I was heading up to help them, but in reality they helped me ;) There are moments that I will always remember. The little girl that won some of the Kings Island Passes brought myself to tears she was so excited ;) I made it a point to talk to all the kids there and was really glad I did. Bubbahunter-you did good friend ;) Very good indeed. I'll gladly help out next season. CATKING.

It was a great day indeed. Sorry I couldnt stay a bit more there bub but we did have to get Ben back. He had a great time and talked about fishing and boats all the way home. The outting made his day and I want to give you my personal thanks. Its a shame I had to work for last years event but very glad I was able to make this years. It was also nice to put some faces with some OGF people I had a great time guys and hopefully get to see you guys before the next kids outting. :)

wow where to start, first off let me thank bubba and mrs bubba for the wonderful outing they put together. those kids faces when they were fishing was priceless. I had a great time helping out and talking to the people from OGF. It was nice to meet everyone from the site :) Thanks again for a wonderful day cant wait until next year.

thanks, but we couldn`t have done it without eveyones help and willingness to be apart of this.i think i`ll take the rest of the summer off and start planning next years event around october.

it was a real treat to meet everyone and to get the chance to hang out and get to know afew of you guys and gals.tawnnie and myself feel honored to have had the chance to do so.
