View Full Version : Depthfinders Times Three

Just picked up my new (to me) Skeeter today. It has dash-mounted and front-deck mounted Lowrance depthfinders -- in both places the X47, I think. I have an Eagle sonar/GPS with better resolution and bigger screen that I am also planning to mount using a RAM mount next to the dash. I'd just get rid of the X47 at the dash but it's mounted in-dash, so I figured I'd leave it there and I could have it display numeric depth and water temp and use the Eagle for raw sonar returns (or GPS when needed).

So, here's my question...can I run both the X47 in the dash and the Eagle at the same time? That is, it is OK to have two transducers shooting thru-hull at the same time -- or can't you? Do I have to mount the transducers a certain distance away from one another, and if so, how far?

Also, can you run both the dash and front deck mounted depth-finders at the same time (front deck 'ducer on the trolling motor)?

Maybe these are dumb questions, but I've never had more than one depth finder on a boat, and now it's looking like I'll be having three if that will work...

Thanks for any input...

I read somewhere that most depth finders are the same frequency and that could potentially cause some distortion .

Here's a link to the lowrance website . This tells you how to avoid distortion between 2 transducers .
