I have a Lowrance on the console of my pontoon boat, but I'm thinking about a Humminbird 565 to mount on the bow with my electric trolling motor. Anyone have any comments on them? I'm looking at the 60 degree transducer as an advantage in shallow water, plus the quick disconnect as benefits. I'll take it to the cottage when not using as it would be right at the dock and I don't want to tempt an otherwise honest person.
I'd also like to use a smaller battery to power it as it's a long way to carry a heavy battery from the dock to our cottage to charge it. Maybe one of those rechargable batteries Cabela's sells that are fully enclosed.
