My business partner has a pond chalked full of warmouth and bluegill to the point that I think it stunted the growth of many of the fish. However, it is perfect for getting kids interested in fishing because there is constant action. There is almost too much action. With two kids, one on each side, hooks and fish flying everywhere I am bound to get hooked :D Not to mention I have a third one that will probably get her first experience this fall or next spring.

The fish are almost too easy to catch. I think I will have to wean them off of the easy fish. Seriously, once you get the fish started biting its a frenzy and you can catch them on a bare hook :) I've taken them fishing a few other places and it seems their expections are not too high just yet!

This pic is my middle daughter's first trip (on the right). My older daughter had been a few times before. As you can see, it is a great place for kids to fish...sit right on the water, hang your feet over the dock and watch the fish hit. It is a little hard to see in the pic, but they both have a fish on and even for this pond, they are a little on the small side...I think their smile is bigger than the fish!

I'm also getting them ready for a creek float trip since that is mostly how I fish :) We didn't do any fishing here, but this was a little pool off of the Greenbrier River where we just floated around and looked at the fish, rocks, etc.

I've got 2 daughters - 2 and 4 and I'm bringing them along the same way. Matter of fact, I use my 4yr olds picture holding a nice crappie she caught as my desktop. That makes my 2yr old want to catch her own fish.

Yeah, I use that canoe picture as my desktop :)

I had them both in the kayak a few weeks ago. I am going to take them back to the creek behind the house (about 2ft deep for 20-30 yards) and let them float and paddle around in that...in a life jacket with dad very near the boat of course :) Should be a blast.
