Sorry to go off topic but is this near the Battelle Research Institute? I'm interested for reasons other than fishing.
Thanks

No, although Battelle does have testing sites all over Columbus, some of which are close the the river...The main headquarters is close to King and the Olentangy River. For some super hot smallmouth action, the Olentangy River close to King Ave is untouchable! :D :T

Hey jamesT can you get a boat in the old and tangy by the king ave bridge. Also how deep is it? Can you wade it?

I fished the Metro park area from the sledding hill south about 1/2 mile. It was pretty shallow in most parts. I did manage to find one hole that produced 2 smallies and one rock bass, all were about 9 inches and skinny. Trapper Johns launches canoes and kayaks in the area, I would like to float this area and see if there are any deep areas. No luck around the bridges as far as bass go, there wer some carp or something similar jumping every now and then. Good luck.

from the sledding hill north is better, imo, than south(if you are wading). Right there where the little darby comes in is always good in the middle of the week when there aren't as many people out

Anyway to reach this by canoe. And would there be any advantage here?

You would have to put in around rt 40, and float down to the canoe access right there at the sled hill, I personally like wading there.
