I've taken my sons out a few times, and owe my daughter a trip with Dad. I've had her out before, and she caught a couple nice crappie, but the boys tagged along. This is just going to be me and her, going after redears and maybe some bass at Portage Lakes. I'll post some pix when we get back in...

It never ceases to amaze me, how happy kids get when you ask them to go fishing. I guess it's the reminder of how happy I was when my Dad asked me to go along with him and my older brothers... When we do it, we build happy memories for them, that's for sure.

We'll be out at Portage Lakes, probably Turkeyfoot, Tuesday evening...

My daughter is about 2 and a half. I have to get her fishing fromt he shore soon. I'm dying to get her out on the boat. Problem is, that it is a long ride to get to the boat ramp, only to have her get broed or seasick.

Luckily, next week, we are going to the Thousand Islands area in upstate New York. We will be meeting my parents there and the boat will be docked at the cottage...so it is a 5 minute walk to the boat! I can't wait to get her out on the water. I hope she likes it soooo bad.

She has soccer Tuesday, so we'll be going Wednesday evening instead... :D

It's just the fact that we're spending time with them. My son is six and he gets bored quickly so I usually let him bring his gameboy and always take snacks out with us. Even if they seem bored out of their mind now, they will look back at these times when their adults and appreciate the fact we dragged them out.
