Small creek fishin' Sunday morning

3 generations of Basskissers went out this morning to a very tiny cow pasture creek. Our normal waters are too high and muddy so Mr. BK took our son and grandson to his favorite little creek. My son started things out getting a 15 inch smallie to hit a buzz bait on about the 5th cast. It had swirled at it on a couple of previous casts. Then my grandson Ty nailed a nice 14 incher. He later caught the biggest fish he can remember catching, a 19 inch carp, that put up a heckuva show. He was really pumped.I think he caught carp fever! He caught bigger carp when he was around 4 years old, but doesn't recall them. Overall Ty caught 8 smallies, 1 rocky and the carp. Mr BK and my son combined for 3 smallies and 3 rockies. As you can see in the last picture Ty is carrying on a family tradition. :D

nice fish so its just a little creek running through like a field??? never had tryed those thought they might be nice but well never gave them a shot. if you dont mind PMing me the creek dont need to know the spot you fish just what creek it is. me and my dad are looking for better fishing, running low on spots alot of the ones we try that are new are no good. i promise to tell know if you help me out.

alos way to keep the sport going, im now 15 and remember some of my trips when i was that small, and well those are what makes me want to go every day.

I am always amazed at the size of the fish that can be caught in smaller rivers and creeks. I've often read that some of the best fishing is right in our own back yards!!

I have caught carp a couple times while smallie fishing...both times thought I had the biggest smallie in the northern hemisphere until I seen those big lips come out of the water :p still alot of fun though...congrats on the fish looks like fun was had by all.

GREAT day out. awesome that those size fish are coming from those size creeks(beautiful pics btw). Now I gotta look into CREEKIN!!!! Ty is growin like a weed! I remember a pic of him with a smallie you posted last year. Thanks for sharing.

Worst feeling ever, happened to me in a bass tournament with a 10lb carp.
I was ready to call ODNR because I thought I had a record largemouth... LOL

Some people get mad when they catch them while smallie or LM fishing not me I think they are fun...when all is said and done most of us are in it for the tussle with the fish and few are better than the carp for that.
