Just got back from there. Muddy, about 6" visibibility. But, I don't know what it normally looks like, as this was the first time I'd fished it. Be careful running at speed -- a fair amount of logs floating in the water...

Is it like that clear down to the Zoo Area?? We have a tournament there Sunday and I need to know if it's going to be safe.

I only went north from the Home Rd. ramp. I wouldn't consider it very dangerous by any means -- just that there was a fair amount of debris floating. But, there were people out waterskiing, so I wouldn't worry about the tournament.

You will be fine for the tournament unless todays rains have somehow significantly raised it.

Not sure about Oshay...but the Scioto south of Griggs is WAAAY up...Not real muddy..but it's up...You should have seen the look on my face when I got to my hole tonight...I was expecting the river to be slow and sluggish (like it was at 6:00 am this mourning) boy was I suprised! .... .Looks like we got some rain up north!!..Check the flow charts...The U. Scioto jumped 3+ feet in less than 24hrs...That has to be some sort of record! lol

BTW I only got 1 dink smallie...But I did see a number of fish hitting the top..Hopefully this heat wave won't kill the upcoming bite...

I fished below the griggs dam for the first time tonite. THe water was flowing good (like use 1/4 oz or bigger jigheads good). I only fished about 5 minutes with no bites(I pulled in a little too far and was kinda stuck which I needed to deal with). A couple people I talked to got a few smallies about a foot. I've been looking at the flow charts. I would be surprised if the fishing is 25 percent decent tomorrow at oshay. The entire place will be total chocolate milk and they won't be biting.

You would be surprised what you can catch in that muddy water...... I am just concerned about the safty. Looks like I might have to take a drive tomorrow to check it out for myself.. Thanks for the info... If anyone makes it up to O'Shaughnessy in the morning let us know..

Thanks

I just got back from Oshay. There was a tourney or club group going out as I was coming in. Maybe someone will post the conditions later from this group.

All in all, I didn't think the lake was too high. I usually judge off how level the docks are to the concrete that they connect to. The were level, so I call that fishable. Weed beds along the edges were also exposed. I typically consider the water high, when I don't see those, or see very little of them.

As far as debris is concerned, Didn't see much at all. I was actually amazed how little I saw. I was on the lake from 7pm last night to 5am this morning and the debris usually comes out after dark, but nothing. There was some wind most of the night though, so they may have helped to keep some of it pushed against the bank. I also didn't go too far north, so it may be working its way down.

I would call the water sttained in the middle section, but I catfish, so I usually don't pay much attention to that.

Well, besides being afraid to leave the dock for a while (Never did rain!) Not too bad. Finally got out on the lake and farther away from the docks around 10:00. Caught 8 decent channels. Nothing over 4 lbs, but fun none the less. I was trying to find some new spots, so I may have found a good backup spot. I probably could have gottten more, but I fell asleep at 2:30 and woke up at 4:30 with no bait. Sure was the quiet relaxing night I needed though.

I hear there's a 30 foot hole behind someones house/dock on the west side where the flatties like to hang. Thats all I know. I don't have a fish/depth finder or I'd be cruising the west side looking for it.
