What's the best bait to use for muskie. We're fishing at clear fork. what would you guys reccomend?i use night crawler right now.

well if youre fishing night crawlers, chances are the first thing youre gonna need to do is upgrade your tackle. there is no one best bait. there are types of baits that seem to work better at different times of the year than others.
generally speaking though, the "best" bait would have to be a suick or bucktail because they are the most widely used baits in history.
if you are just starting to fish muskies, i would start by throwing a bucktail. i would go with a mepps tandem (2 trebles) #5 or #6......orange blade and blade hair. although it is not highly recommended *, you can throw these on a bass flippin. mh or heavy action is ok with a fast tip, at least a 7' rod, id go more towards 8', a fast reel (6.3:1), and a 90 lb 7-strand leader (you can get the joe bucher leaders just about anywhere).
*most people use heavier tackle than this, myself included.

Bagley's Monster Shad in different colors work well most times of the year.
