Preserving material for fly tying?

How do you preserve duck and/or goose parts to be used later for fly tying material? I have some mallard heads and geese wings that Iwould like to preserve?

Ive heard Boraxo sprinkled on pelts and capes i also believe one has to be careful about bugs whether its pelts or capes. Keep em in garage they are kinda like leeches and worms most important thing is keeping em outta wife's sight.
