but instead I swiped at the fish with the net and perfectly caught an open hook on the chrome "Little Cleo" in the fishes mouth... i executed one of the most perfectly clean inadvertant releases ever.... :(

Very frustrating day, freezing cold and get a dandy fish on and cant land it. So which is better not getting a bite at all or seeing an awesome fish on your line only to do what I did??? I had a great Fall and early winter but 2006 I swear someone needs to loan me a copy of steelheading for dummies or something.... OK, thanks for letting me vent.

Hey CoolWater could have been worse. You could have frozen your toes for nothing at all. At least you had one on, and a bad day fishing is still better than working.

I know how you feel , nothing worst than losing a nice fish right at the net , Well at least you had the chance to battle that fish I am sure it is one you will not soon forget , at least you where out fishing and enjoying something you love to do , Thank God for that !!!
