I have been eagerly awaiting the ice this year as I decided this fall I would finally make the plunge and start Ice fishing some. With the Indian lake reports I think that is where I will be heading, possibly Kiser lake if the ice is safe there. They are both fairly close. Any wisdom at all would be greatly appriciated, I honestly don't even know where to start on the lake or what bait to use but hey thats why I am here :D I am thinking of targeting saugeye and crappie, Baits would be an Ice Jig and a wax worm or minnow and as for the saugeyes probably a vibe. Oh yeah, do the saugeye hang out around dream bridge in the winter months as well? Thanks

I heard they were catching saugeye at Black Hawk last weekend. There were alot fishing there Saturday not sure if they were catching anything.
You can usually catch crappie over at Long Point but it is hard to get to this year because of the no trespassing signs are everywhere we used to park
Check out Mike's Bait Shop for information also he will tell you what is going on.

DZimmer, read the post that have been made in the Hardwatyer section the last few weeks. It's like reading a school lesson on icew fishing. Lots of great ideas, suggestions and safety issues covered. Welcome to our world my friend.
