Fished for trout this past weekend, and between downpours, managed about a dozen rainbows and a bunch of skipjacks. Biggest trout was 4 pounds right out of the tailwater on a jigging spoon. All others were caught with minnows drifting. Water looked good, and they were letting a lot out. Good time to go. Crappie were biting on the main lake, but we did not get the chance to go over there. No good striper reports were coming out of there.

I bet the 4 pounder gave a good fight in that current! Sounds like a good time.

It was a good fight, and it seemed like it took forever to bring him in. I just wanted to get him in the net. Great way to start off the year!

Are there brown trout in there also?

Big browns pushing 20lbs, but they are a little tougher to catch. They relate to timber, and the current is moving so fast, it's hard to cast quickly enough. We caught small browns, about 9 to 10 inches, but we really did not try to fish for the bigger ones due to the current.
